BLUE VIEW: This attempt to intimidate the United States on the eve of Vice President Harris’ arrival in the region will not work.
RED VIEW: Biden and Harris are viewed as so weak by the world’s tyrants. USA! USA! USA!
PURPLE VIEW: Will any U.S. administration ever figure out a way to disarm North Korea and Iran?

A new Washington Post/ABC News poll published at midnight:
Heading into the final weeks of the midterm election campaign, Americans are split nationally in their vote for Congress, with Republicans holding sizable advantages on the economy, inflation and crime and Democrats far more trusted to handle the issues of abortion and climate change, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll….
At this point, both sides are highly motivated to turn out in November. Among registered Democratic voters, 3 in 4 say they are almost certain to vote compared with about 8 in 10 Republicans. Independents are less motivated….
Political independents narrowly favor Republicans, 47 percent to 42 percent, in the vote for Congress. In 2018, the final Post-ABC poll found Democrats holding a seven-point advantage among independents. Democrats’ competitiveness with independents is perhaps notable, given that independent voters disapprove of Biden by 60 percent to 31 percent. More than 9 in 10 self-identified Democrats and Republicans support their party’s candidate for Congress.
BLUE VIEW: We are poised to defy history in the midterms.
RED VIEW: Despite the media bias and the fake news polls, even this survey shows why a Red Wave is indeed coming.
PURPLE VIEW: Republican failure to show an edge on immigration is the sleeper data in this poll.
****
One more item from the same poll:
[I]f the 2024 race is again between Biden and Trump, 48 percent of registered voters say they would support Trump while 46 percent would support Biden, a difference within the poll’s margin of error.
BLUE VIEW: I can’t believe we’re losing to this guy; this is why Biden should not run again.
RED VIEW: I can’t believe Biden is so close given his record and/but given all the media bias it is amazing that Trump is ahead in this fake poll.
PURPLE VIEW: While other head-to-head polls show Biden will a small lead in a mythical-but-could-happen matchup, how do introspective Democrats explain it even being close?

President Joe Biden won’t be coming down to South Florida on Tuesday, citing the incoming Tropical Storm Ian as the reason — which is still forecast to hit the state as a hurricane, the White House announced.
Biden was expected to speak on healthcare costs and Medicare in Fort Lauderdale, and then head to Orlando to speak at a Democratic National Committee event. It’s unclear when or if Biden will reschedule the visit.
BLUE VIEW: Too bad but the White House’s determination to campaign in Purple/Red states is fantastic.
RED VIEW: What a waste of time.
PURPLE VIEW: By revving up the Blue base, Team Biden has a real chance to slow down the DeSantis train.

The Wall Street Journal has a new look at the DeSantis re-elect effort:
In closely divided Florida, gubernatorial candidates usually tack toward the middle in the general election after courting their party bases in the primary. Not Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Last week, he sent two planes of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, infuriating immigrant-rights groups, triggering lawsuits and garnering praise from some Republicans and conservative media outlets. Mr. DeSantis recently campaigned for conservative GOP candidates in Kansas and Pennsylvania while asserting that Florida has “gotten redder.” His speeches often focus on critical race theory, school policies on gender issues and liberals, who he says are “trying to render the conservative half of the country second-class citizens.”
“The typical strategy is to hide from those more conservative issues,” said Christian Ziegler, vice chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. “He’s done the complete opposite….”
A decisive win in November—with support from some independents and other swing voters—could make him a formidable presidential candidate in 2024 should he decide to run. Falling short could weaken the argument made by some supporters that he is the most electable Republican on the national scene.
BLUE VIEW: This guy is not as popular at home as the national media portrays him.
RED VIEW: Trump-DeSantis ’24!!!
PURPLE VIEW: A semi-perfect storm of progressive turnout (fueled by the abortion issue, the Senate race, and Democratic targeted messaging), DeSantis continuing to push polarizing messages, and a Charlie Crist October Surprise could leave the incumbent far short of a decisive, calling card win.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for an overhaul of Democrats’ political strategy on Saturday, saying the party is “getting crushed” by Republicans in part because they are too timid, often forced to play defense while Republicans “dominate with illusion.”
Speaking at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin, Texas — the territory of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, one of Newsom’s chief political foils — Newsom was careful to praise current party leaders like President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
But he said that mantras that may have worked for the party in the past — like Michele Obama’s famous quip “when they go low, we go high,” — simply don’t work today because “that’s not the moment we’re living in right now.”
“These guys are ruthless on the other side,” Newsom said. “Where are we? Where are we organizing, bottom up, a compelling alternative narrative? Where are we going on the offense every single day? They’re winning right now.”
BLUE VIEW: Like the fight in him!
RED VIEW: What a liberal pretty boy punk!
PURPLE VIEW: Despite his repeated denials he is interested, arguably now the party’s 2024 frontrunner.

First it was deplorables, now it’s Nazis.
Hillary Clinton offered a sharp rebuke of former President Trump’s most recent campaign event in Ohio, saying it reminded her of a Nazi rally
“I remember as a young student, you know, trying to figure out, how people get basically drawn in by Hitler. How did that happen? I’d watch newsreels and I’d see this guy standing up there ranting and raving, and people shouting and raising their arms. I thought, ‘What’s happened to these people?'” Clinton said Friday at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.
“You saw the rally in Ohio the other night, Trump is there ranting and raving for more than an hour, and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised. I thought, ‘What is going on?'”
BLUE VIEW: If you don’t want to be called a “Nazi,” don’t act like a Nazi.
RED VIEW: Lock her up.
PURPLE VIEW: If there is a national route out of the deep and dangerous polarization afflicting us, it does not involve Hillary Clinton comparing Trump supporters to Nazis.

BLUE VIEW: It is true that this Justice Department doesn’t leak.
RED VIEW: OMG, this Justice Department doesn’t leak???!!! – it spoon feeds its favorite Dominant Media clowns.
PURPLE VIEW: A sophisticated reader of declination stories knows that Gaetz is not going to be charged now in the “official” view of Main Justice.

BLUE VIEW: Trump Trump Trump.
RED VIEW: Zzzzzzzzz.
PURPLE VIEW: Waiting on the final report.
****
Per the Washington Post, John Fetterman held a Philly rally on Saturday that demonstrated his base support.
BLUE VIEW: Oz is toast.
RED VIEW: Fetterman will not make it to Election Day.
PURPLE VIEW: Between his own standing with Republicans and the gubernatorial contest, Oz is still going to have to step up his game or he will lose this race, and/but the GOP can still take the majority if they hold the rest of their seats and take Nevada and Georgia.

BLUE VIEW: Anecdotal, smanecdotal – vaccines work.
RED VIEW: [Laughter]
PURPLE VIEW: Everyone I know has COVID.

/BLUE VIEW: Maybe they were booing her failure to support The Squad.
RED VIEW: Maybe they were booing because even in Manhattan they believe in freedom.
PURPLE VIEW: Maybe they were booing because they came to hear rock and roll, not pols.
