In March, Gretchen began experiencing severe abdominal pain. Tests revealed a tumor in her intestines—stage 2 colon cancer that had likely been missed by an at-home screening during the pandemic. Emergency surgery followed.

Just weeks later, Gretchen was back in the gym—and back in the fight. In late May, she began ImmunityBio’s BioShield immunotherapy program, paired with low-dose chemo pills. So far, the results are encouraging: her ALC count—a key marker of immune strength—is on the rise.
