Many come to Wide World of News for answers.
Today, you get are the questions.
You might think questions (questions without provided answers, no less) are a journalistic copout.
With all due respect, you would be wrong.
Sometimes, asking the correct questions is the first, best hope of reporting of earth.
Thus, it is time yet again to pose 18 questions about politics, marketing, the media and popular culture.
Pro hint: the reporting and analysis are embedded in the questions!

1. Why was Michèle Flournoy actually passed over for Defense secretary in favor of Lloyd Austin?
2. In making cabinet announcements, how much is Joe Biden factoring in that he might need Mitch McConnell’s cooperation in getting his team confirmed?

4. Would the inclusion of direct payments in a compromise agreement suddenly change the game?
5. Is the failure of the Romney-Manchin effort to have legislative language yet more comedy or tragedy?
6. If the congressional leadership somehow reaches a deal, how certain is it that such a freighted pact would be passed by both chambers and signed into law by the president?
7. If no pandemic relief deal is reached in December, will the human fallout be as dire as it appears?
8. Why has no Trump election case reached the Supreme Court?
9. Will Donald Trump change his election challenge posture in any meaningful way after the safe harbor or any other pre-January 20 deadline/milestone?
10. Can any pollster accurately determine who a “likely” voter is in these Georgia runoffs?
11. If the president isn’t sure he can safely pardon himself, will he resign at the end to let Mike Pence do it?
12. What will happen politically if Joe Biden as president embraces a path to legal status for those 15 million or so people who are in the country illegally?
13. Will the states use technology more effectively in vaccine distribution than they did in their failed tracing and tracking endeavors?
14. Are there going to be enough restaurants in major cities to meet demand come September 2021?
15. Why should anyone assert that we can know the rate at which Americans are wearing masks based on polls that require self-reporting – when we have our own eyes?
16. Isn’t there some tech hippie on the West Coast who would have paid way more than $300 million for the Bob Dylan catalogue?
17. Is this the best lede of the pandemic, or what?
LONDON (Reuters) - William Shakespeare from Warwickshire in England was one of the first people to receive the newly approved COVID-19 vaccine outside a clinical trial on Tuesday.
The 81-year-old had the injection at University Hospital Coventry on Tuesday, 20 miles from Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of his namesake, England’s greatest dramatist and poet.
18. You know you ask a lot of questions for a guy from Bethesda?
