Here’s the New York Post’s view of the Oval Office, last-days-of-summer getaway inbox:
President Biden left the White House before noon Friday for a long weekend at his beach house and kept out of sight as the FDA rejected his push for COVID-19 vaccine “booster” shots, the Pentagon admitted it killed Afghan civilians and France recalled its ambassador.
Those three stories are all rightly getting plenty of coverage in the Dominant Media in the current news cycle.
As a citizen of the world interested in news, you should read at least one article on each topic.
Here are good ones.
1. CNBC on the FDA decision.
2. The Wall Street Journal on the killing of children and innocent civilians in Afghanistan by the U.S. military.
3. The New York Times’ David Sanger on the extraordinary lying by omission (at the least) by top U.S. government officials to the French regarding the Australian sub deal.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS
1. For the Dominant Media
What if this were the reality of the current moment:
President Trump left the White House before noon Friday for a long weekend at Mar-a-lago and kept out of sight as the FDA rejected his push for COVID-19 vaccine “booster” shots, the Pentagon admitted it killed Afghan civilians and France recalled its ambassador.
How do you think the coverage would be different?
2. For Red America
If this all were in fact happening on the watch of Donald Trump, would your attitude be
a. The medical deep state strikes again.
b. Accidents will happen and how do we know if the guy with the vehicle was really an aid worker?
c. This shows why we should scale back our NATO ties with those crybabies.
3. For Blue America
What do these three controversies say to you about the basic competence of Team Biden?
4. For readers searching for the truth
a. The continued paucity of conclusive data about almost anything related to the pandemic remains a staggering problem.
b. The loss of life is heartbreaking; the implications for the U.S.’s current over-the-horizon operations and for attempts to not foster a next-generation hostility to America in that part of the world are incalculable; the lack of accountability is dangerous.
c. The more we learn about the facts of what the Brits, Australians, and Americans did to embarrass the French, the more we understand that this is as much about the betrayal of trust of an ally than about commercial interests. And/but the subs the French were building were going to be as au courant when they finally hit the Pacific waters as a Palm Pilot would be in September of 2021.

The only other thing you really need to know is that the posture of Rolling Stone magazine towards “Strawberry Fields Forever” is one of the most astounding cases of media malpractice in recent memory.
