9am: Casket departs the U.S. Capitol. The funeral motorcade travels to Washington National Cathedral.
9:30am— Carter’s motorcade arrives at Washington National Cathedral.
10am: The Washington funeral begins.
11:155am: Carter’s remains and his family depart the cathedral for Joint Base Andrews.
11:45am: They board Special Air Mission 39.
2pm: Special Air Mission 39 arrives at Lawson Army Airfield at Fort Moore, Georgia. Carter’s remains will be transferred with ceremony to the hearse. Carter and his family then travel to Plains by motorcade.
3:30pm: Motorcade arrives at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.
3:45pm: An invitation-only funeral at the church begins.
4:45pm: A motorcade takes participants from the church to the Carter residence.
5:20pm: A U.S. Navy missing man formation conducts a flyover in honor of Carter’s naval service and time as commander in chief, followed by a private graveside ceremony and interment.

The Kremlin on Thursday said that Russia had strategic national interests in the Arctic when asked to comment on U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's remarks about acquiring Greenland, absorbing Canada and taking control of the Panama Canal….
When asked about Trump's comments about Greenland and Canada, the Kremlin said that Russia, which has the largest Arctic coastline, was closely watching the "dramatic development" of the situation.
"The Arctic is a zone of our national interests, our strategic interests," Peskov said. "We are interested in preserving the atmosphere of peace and stability in the Arctic zone."

Let’s imagine that Franklin D. Roosevelt had possessed the same gift for longevity as Jimmy Carter and lived until he was 100. He would have died in1982, in Ronald Reagan’s second year in office….
It is eye-opening to play this same game with others. John F. Kennedy, who was killed just a couple of weeks after I was born, would have been eulogized by President Donald Trump in 2017. Abraham Lincoln would have lived until 1909, after the dawn of aviation. Theodore Roosevelt, who as a small boy watched Lincoln’s funeral procession from his family’s New York apartment, would have lived to see nuclear weapons and the early days of the space race before expiring in 1958. If Bill Clinton reaches the century mark, in 2046, he will have an ex-presidency even longer than Carter’s, which lasted 43 years and 344 days and is the current record.
